Working with the industry’s most influential bloggers and vloggers is a big part of our role at Glow Communications. Every day we spend time researching and sourcing the top influencers of Instagram, YouTube and the blogging community. By doing so, this helps to grow your brand awareness and social following. Here are the five key things we look for in a blogger:
The number of followers a blogger has is a big consideration but the engagement is just as important. Do those followers engage, do they ask questions? There is no benefit to working with a blogger who receives no feedback from their readers or subscribers.
Do they post regular content? Once or twice a week is a good amount for a genuine, passionate influencer. Are they active everyday on social media? It is important that they are interacting with her followers daily.
A blogger may post every day, but if their images and videos aren’t of a high quality, then unfortunately they can’t be seen an influencer of the industry. Nobody wants to watch a shaky or blurry YouTube video.
A blogger must have a genuine love and passion for the brand collaboration. More often than not, bloggers are paid for their work. As I work on a gift basis only, it is clear that the blogger is working with us because she genuinely wants to.
Are they right for the brand? If a blogger’s content is all about designer high end fashion, you wouldn’t contact her coming from an affordable high street brand. The tone, personality and editorial style also needs to be considered.
